Bracket Game 1. Texas Aces (visitors) vs. Angleton Ice (home). Won 18-0. Pitchers Rhiannon/Tiffany.
In the first bracket game, the Aces faced a new team.  In the first inning, Kendall walked and came in on a double by Porta. Then Jenna walked, and Brytish got in two runs on a safe bunt.  Kelsea grounded out but brought home Brytish.  Amy and Kesha walked, followed by an RBI safe bunt by Rhiannon.  Lauren got on with a safe bunt to load the bases, and Kendall walked for the second time in the inning for an RBI.  Portia brought home two more runs on a single, and Lauren scored on an error.  Jenna brought home two on a double before a sac bunt and a ground out ended the inning with the Aces up by 10 runs.  The Ice had 3-up 3-down in the 1st.  Kimberly led off the 2nd with a double, and scored when Lauren got on base on an Ice error after two outs.  Tiffany got the Ice 3-up 3-down in the 2nd.

Portia and Jenna got the Aces bats started again in the 3rd, with back-to-back singles.  Brytish drove home a run with a single, and Kelsea grounded out for another RBI.  Kimberly followed with and RBI single.  Tiffany got a single after another out, and Lauren followed with an RBI single.  Kendall reached on an error, and Portia hit a single to bring home two more runs for a 7-run inning.

Unfortunately, the Ice wouldn't even take their last at bat.  We know what it's like to be in their shoes.   It reminded us of our first fall season in A-ball when we faced the Texas Peppers for the first time!  The score was quite similar.   Hang in there, Ice!  We've been there before, too!  But you should never quit, because quitters never win.

Bracket Game 2. Texas Aces (visitors)  vs. Friendswood Flames (home). Won 3-0. Pitcher Rhiannon.
Rhiannon pitched 4 full innings, allowing 2 hits, with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks.  Kendall led off the second bracket game with a safe bunt.  Portia followed with a deep single, but was tagged out trying to get an extra base.  Jenna grounded out to bring home Kendall.  The Flames first batter grounded out to first.  A single got one runner on base, but Rhiannon struck out the next batter, and Kelsea made a great catch of a pop foul to end the inning.   In the 2nd, Kelsea reached on error, and Brytish doubled to bring her home.  After Amy advanced Brytish to 2nd with a sac bunt, Rhiannon grounded out but brought in another run.  In the bottom of the 2nd, Rhiannon walked two batters in a row with two outs, but got the next batter with a ground out.  Jenna got a base hit in the 3rd and Amy singled in the 4th, but both were left stranded.  The Flames got on with a single up the middle in the bottom of the 4th, but the runner was quickly caught stealing 2nd with a throw from Kelsea to Portia at short.  The flames got another base runner on a walk, but two quick groundouts ended the game with the Aces on top 3-0.

Bracket Game 3. La Porte Naturals (visitor) vs. Texas Aces (home). Won 3-2. Pitcher Kimberly.
The Naturals put the Ballistic in the loser's bracket on Saturday night, so the Aces played the Naturals on Sunday with Kimberly pitching.  Kimberly completed 6 full innings, allowing only 2 hits with 1 earned run, 1 walk, and 8 strikeouts.  Great pitching Kimberly!

The Naturals leadoff batter got on base on an error, then Kimberly struck out the next batter looking while the runner managed to advance to 3rd.  The next batter grounded out to Brytish at short, but the runner scored.  Kimberly got the next batter swinging.  In the bottom of the inning, after one out, Portia hit a double, followed by a single by Jenna and a safe bunt by Brytish to load the bases.  However, all three runners were left stranded.  Kimberly struck out the next Naturals batter swinging on a great change-up, but the following batter hit a single for the Naturals first hit of the game.  The next batter got on after a fielding error, and the runner scored.  Two quick groundouts left a runner on 3rd.  Kesha ripped a single up the middle in the bottom of the 2nd, and advanced on a sac bunt by Lauren, but was also left stranded on 3rd.  The Naturals were 3-up 3-down in the top of the 3rd, with a groundout back to the pitcher, a grounder to Brytish in right field, and a groundout to Jenna at 3rd.  Portia led off the Aces batters with a single in the bottom of the 3rd.  After two outs, Kelsea walked, but both runners were left stranded.  The Naturals were 3-up 3-down again in the 4th, with a groundout to Jenna, and two more strikeouts by Kimberly.

Things finally turned around in the bottom of the 4th, as Amy led off with a safe bunt and scored on a single by Kesha.  Lauren hit another safe bunt, and Kesha scored and Lauren got to 3rd when the Naturals overthrew first base.  Portia hit a safe bunt, but Lauren got caught in a run down between home and 3rd for the 2nd out.  Jenna hit a single, but Jenna and Portia were both left stranded, but the ball game was now tied 2-2.  In the 5th, the first Naturals batter reached on an Aces error, and Kimberly struck out the next batter.  The Naturals then ripped a single up the middle, but Lauren fielded it and made the throw to home and got the lead runner trying to score.  A flyout to right field then ended the top of the inning.  The Aces couldn't score in the bottom of the 5th, and time had expired, so the game went to International Tie-Breaker rules.  The Naturals runner on 2nd advanced to 3rd on a sac bunt.  The next batter reach first on a bunt while Kimberly held the runner at 3rd.  Kimberly struck out the next batter on a full count called strike, but walked the next batter to load the bases.  Kimberly got the next batter swinging to leave the bases loaded and the score still tied.  Amy started out on 2nd for the Aces in the bottom of the 6th.  After one pop-up out that held Amy at 2nd, Lauren hit a bunt and the Naturals tried to throw her out at first, but again overthrew the ball (probably in haste to hold Amy to 3rd), and Amy scored to end the game with the Aces on top once again!
