Pool Games
In the first two pool games, the Texas Aces shut out the Louisiana Ice and the Texas Panthers as Amber and Kayla combined for two no-hitters.  In those games, Rhiannon and Lindsey both hit doubles, and Kayla hit a triple.  Several other Aces had singles.  In the third pool game, Rhiannon allowed 2 hits, but the Aces still shut out the Texas Slammers as the Aces accumulated 10 hits, including a homerun by Kelsea!

Bracket 1 - vs Texas Slammers.  Aces lost 2-3.
The Aces got off to a bad start in the first inning of the first bracket game, as the Slammers scored three runs on two hits and two Aces errors. Lindsey had a single in the 2nd inning, but was left stranded. Russ had an RBI single in the 3rd, and the Aces scored another run on a Slammers error in the 4th, but the Aces still couldn't overcome the deficit.

Bracket 2 - vs. Texas Panthers.  Aces won 14-0.
Working their way back through the losers bracket, the Aces shut out the Panthers again, as Rhiannon allowed only one hit in the bottom of the third.  The Aces had 12 hits in the game, including a homerun by Kesha, a double by Megan, 3 singles by Amy, and 2 singles each by Lindsey and Kendall.  And that's not counting the great hit to shallow left field by Kelsea that was called an infield fly!

Bracket 3 - vs. Louisiana Ice.  Aces won 7-2.
In the first game on Sunday, the Aces beat the Ice with ten Aces hits, including a bunt single, a triple and a homerun by Lindsey, a double by Kayla, two singles each by Megan and Rhiannon, and singles by Russ and Kendall.  Late in the third, with two outs, with a no-hitter in the works by Kayla, an Aces error allowed a base runner for the Ice, which was followed by two hits and two unearned runs.  Kayla didn't allow any more hits in the game.

Bracket 4 - vs. Texas Slammers.  Aces won 13-3.
The Texas Aces faced the Slammers again on Sunday, this time with a new attitude.  Although Rhiannon walked the first batter in the first inning, and another runner got on on an error, the Aces picked off one runner on an attempted steal to 2nd, and the other runner on an attempt to to steal home.  The Aces bats were hot as they came up to bat, with 4 hits and 4 runs in the 1st inning, including a single from Russ, an RBI double from Lindsey, a 2 RBI triple from Megan. and a RBI single from Kelsea.  The Slammers had one baserunner on an Aces error in the 2nd.  Amy had a safe bunt for a single in the 2nd, but was left stranded.  Rhiannon allowed one Slammer hit in the 3rd, followed by a walk, which set up a three-run inning for the Slammers on another Aces error, bringing the score to 4-3.  But the Aces came back strong in their turn at bat, with Lindsey leading off with a single, followed by a single from Megan, and a safe bunt by KelseaLindsey scored on a wild pitch, and Kendall walked to load the bases.  Kesha brought home another run with a single, and the Slammers went to another pitcher with the bases loaded and the Aces leading 6-3.  Amy was hit by a pitch to score another run, and Russ hit a double to bring home two more runs. Kayla reached on an error as another run scored.  On her 2nd at bat for the inning, Lindsey brought home a run with another single. Rhiannon got a 2 RBI single, and the game was called with a runner on 2nd and only 1 out.

Bracket 5 - vs. Texas Slammers.  Aces won 9-2.
The Aces had to face the Slammers in the IF game to determine the tournament champion.  Kayla walked the first batter, who was quickly retired on a fielder's choice.  However, Jessica on the Slammers then hit a 2 homer, which was followed by a single, before Kayla struck out the next batter and the other runner was caught stealing.  The Aces answered back in the bottom of the inning, scoring 3 runs on 4 singles by Russ, Lindsey, Megan, and Kendall.  After getting the Slammers 3-up-3-down in the 2nd, the Aces continued the hitting streak with singles by Amber, Amy, Russ, and Rhiannon, and an RBI groundout by Lindsey to bring in 4 more runs.  Another 3-up-3-down in the 3rd, with two strikeouts by Kayla, and even on two outs in the 3rd, the Aces got into another hitting streak with 4 consecutive singles by Amber, Kayla, Lindsey, and Kelsea, to bring in 2 more runs.  The game was called with bases loaded,  and Rhiannon up to bat.
