Good Practice at La Porte Round Robin
The Texas Aces full 2003 team got together for the first time at the Lady Dawgs round robin. In four games, the Aces scored 42 runs and allowed none. The defense didn't get much work in some of the games, but the girls got some good batting practice. It was a good day to be outdoors and enjoying softball for the first outing of the spring.

Game 1 - vs South Houston Mystixx. Aces won 13-0.
Rhiannon pitched one shutout inning for the Aces. The Aces came up with 6 runs in the first inning, with walks by Megan and Emily, singles by Amber, Lindsey, Kendall, and Kesha, and a double by Lana Jo. Rhiannon and Kelsea also had RBIs on a groundout and a dropped third strike. Lana Jo pitched two innings, and allowed only one hit. However, when the next batter hit a fly ball to deep left field, Kesha made the play of the game with an incredible jumping catch, and she quickly fired to Emily covering 2nd who threw to Kendall at first and got runner in a double play! The Aces came up with 7 more runs in the 3rd, as Megan, Rhiannon, and Kendall walked; Kesha, Kelsea, Stephanie, Ashley, and Amber hit singles.

Game 2 - vs South Houston Mystixx. Aces won 17-0.
The Aces started out batting in the 2nd game, and came up with 4 runs in the first, with singles from Lana Jo, Lindsey, and Kesha, while Megan walked and Emily reached on error. The Aces put 12 more runs on the board as they batted around in the 2nd. Ashley hit a homerun to the fence to bring home two runs, and in the same inning hit a triple to bring home two more. Siera was hit by a pitch in her first at bat, and hit a triple next time up. Stephanie and Lana Jo each walked once and hit singles the next time up. Amber had two singles, and Emily, Megan, Rhiannon, and Kesha all had singles. Lindsey added one more run to the board with a homerun down the 3rd base line in the 3rd. Siera pitched a perfect game in her pitching debut with the Aces, with no hits, no walks, and four strikeouts over 3 innings. The only Mystixx baserunner was on a dropped third strike on two outs in the 1st.

Game 3 - vs Bizerk. Aces won 7-0.
Amber led off with a single in the 1st inning, but got caught in a force at 2nd on a dropped fly ball to 2nd base. After Emily walked, and an out on a fielder's choice, Rhiannon hit a single, but Emily got called out trying to score on a tag at the plate. Rhiannon pitched the first two innings, and allowed only one baserunner on a walk in the 1st. Ashley caught fly balls in right field in each inning for outs. In the 2nd, Lindsey led off with a single, and advanced to 2nd and then scored on the next two at bats as the Bizerk failed to get the outs on fielder's choices. Ashley brought home another run with a single, and another run scored on an error to put the Aces up by 3. In the 3rd, Amber led off with a triple, and scored on a groundout. On two outs, Megan rallied back with a single, followed by a single from Rhiannon, then back to back doubles by Lindsey and Siera to bring home 3 more runs, putting the Aces up by 7. Siera pitched the last two innings, and allowed only one hit, which was quickly picked off at first base on a throw from Megan at catcher to Kendall at 1st.

Game 4 - vs Bridge City Thunder. Aces won 5-0.
Lana Jo pitched the first inning for the Aces, and allowed one hit. The baserunner was soon caught stealing. In the bottom of the first, Amber hit a single and scored on a wild pitch. Lana Jo hit a single, and came home on a single by Megan. Rhiannon walked and Kendall was hit by a pitch. Kesha and Siera each hit singles to bring home two more runs. Rhiannon pitched the 2nd inning, and allowed one baserunner on a walk that was left stranded. Lana Jo hit a single in the 2nd, and scored on a wild pitch as Megan walked. Siera pitched the 3rd inning. The first batter reached on an error, but was quickly put out on a line drive back to Siera who made the throw to first for the double play. Kendall walked and Kesha hit a single in the 3rd, but both were left stranded. In the 4th, Siera allowed one hit, but the runner was quickly picked off at 1st base on the throw from Emily at catcher to Rhiannon at 1st.
