Aces Win Katy Out of School Classic 16U
The Texas Aces had a couple of off games this weekend, but managed to pull it together and win the 16U tournament hosted by the Katy Force. After not allowing a run in the first two pool games on Saturday, the Aces couldn't put a run on the board in the final pool game as they made several errors. Then, in the 2nd bracket game, the Aces made some errors and again couldn't get any runs across, which set them up for a long day on Sunday. The Aces made it through three more opponents to make it to the championship game. Once again, the championship game ended up between two strong 14U teams playing up. The Aces held on to win their 4th game of the day and win the tournament. One highlight of the tournament was Ashley's over-the-fence two-run homerun in the first bracket game against Texas Energy. Way to hit the ball, Ashley! The Katy Force did a great job of preparing the fields between games and keeping games on schedule. Instead of trophies, tournament Championship and Runner-Up t-shirts were given out as awards, with participating teams listed on back. Pretty cool!
