June 23-26 -- Katy College Showcase Tournament
This tournament has 45 teams entered.  The Aces won their pool, with a tie against the CF Battz Gold, and wins against Jag, Cajun Express, and Hearts of Texas.  The Aces also got to play an exhibition game against the Russian National Red team.

The team opted not to play in bracket since we all needed to head to Colorado.

Pool Game 1 - vs Cy-Fair Battz Gold.  Aces won 3-1. 
Rhiannon got off to a rough start in the first, allowing a single, followed by a 2-out homerun.  She allowed no further hits in the following 2 1/3 innings, and Morgan allowed only one hit in 3 innings.  Kelsea singled in the 1st, but was left stranded.  Kendall led off the 3rd with a walk, and scored on a single by KeshaMegan singled in the 4th, but was left stranded.  Morgan hit a two-out infield single in the 5th, and scored on a triple by Amber to tie the game.

Pool Game 2 - vs Jag.  Aces won 4-1.
Morgan
started for the Aces.  The Jag led off the bottom of the 4th with a single, and sacrificed the runner to 2nd.  Another single scored a run for Jag.  A walk and another single loaded the bases.  On a line drive to Kelsea at 3rd, she quickly went to the bag for a double play when the runner was headed home.  Kelsea singled in the 2nd, but was left stranded.  Morgan singled in the 4th, and was out on a fielder's choice, with one left stranded in the inning.  The Aces bats got going in the 5th, when Brytish led off with a single, and Rhiannon drove in Brytish with a double.  Kesha reached on an error which allowed another run to score.  Lindsey led off with a single in the 6th, and advanced on another single by MeganBrytish singled to right to score Lindsey and advance Megan to 3rd.  Brytish rounded 1st and got into a rundown which allowed Megan to scamper home for another run, and Brytish ended up safe at 1st.  Rhiannon and the Aces defense allowed no hits in the final 3 innings.

Exhibition - vs Russian National Red.  Aces won 2-0.
Rhiannon started for the Aces and allowed two hits on two outs in the first, but a pop up to Rhiannon ended the threat.  The Russians led off with a single in the bottom of the 2nd, and the runner moved to 3rd on a sac bunt with an error, and the batter took 2nd.  Rhiannon held the runners with a grounder back to the pitcher, and got the out at 1st.  On a grounder to 2nd, Lindsey threw to the plate and caught the lead runner in a rundown.  A pop up to 1st ended the scoring threat.  The Russians never had a runner in scoring position again.  Kelsea singled in the 2nd but was left stranded.  Brytish singled to lead off the 3rd, but was left stranded.  Amber led off the 4th with a double, and scored on a double by RhiannonLindsey followed with a single, but two were left stranded.  Kendall singled in the 5th, and Amber walked in the 6th, but both were left stranded.  Stephanie singled in the 7th, followed by a single from JessicaMorgan hit a sac fly which was dropped, to score Steph.  Two were left stranded.

Pool 3 - vs Cajun Express.  Aces won 1-0.
Morgan and Rhiannon combined for a no hitter against the Cajun Express, each pitching 3 innings.  Morgan had 5 strikeouts with one walk, and Rhiannon had 6 strikeouts with 1 walk.  The Cajun Express had a couple of other baserunners on defensive errors, but were held scoreless.  Morgan and Megan hit back-to-back singles in the 1st, but were left stranded.  Kesha led off the 4th with a single, and Morgan reached on an error, but both were left stranded.  Lindsey led off the 5th with a single, and was safe at 2nd on an error on a fielder's choice by KelseaBrytish laid down a sac bunt to advance the runners, and Stephanie hit a sac fly to center to score Lindsey for the only run of the game.

Pool 4 - vs Hearts of Texas.  Aces won 6-5.
Rhiannon started for the Aces, and got three-up-three-down in the 1st with two ground outs and a strike out.  Lindsey walked to lead off the bottom of the 1st, and Amber reached on a sac bunt with an error that allowed Lindsey to score.  Amber advanced on a ground out and a single by Rhiannon.   Kesha singled up the middle to score two runs.  Stephanie reached on an error, but two were left stranded.  Rhiannon allowed one hit in the 2nd, with a ground out and two strike outs.  In the bottom of the 2nd, Kendall led off with a walk and advanced on a ground out.  Amber walked, and Megan singled to load the bases.  Rhiannon cleared the bases with a double, putting the Aces up 6-0.  Morgan came in to pitch in the 3rd.  After a single and a strikeout, the next batter walked.  On a fielder's choice to short, a throw by Brytish to Megan tagged the lead runner for the 2nd out.  However, a double cleared the bases for two runs.  In the bottom of the 4th, Lindsey and Amber singled but were left stranded.  In the top of the 5th, after a strikeout, the Hearts singled.  The next batter hit a triple to score one run, and back to back singles scored two more, bringing the Hearts to within one run of the Aces.  Rhiannon came back in to finish the game.  A wild pitch allowed the runner to reach third, but a strike out and a ground out sealed the victory for the Aces.
