Tornado Warm-Up Summary
Congratulations! Texas Aces 15s finished tied for 5th out of 40 teams that signed up for the Tornado Warm-Up #2!  Taking a chance and heading to the tournament with only 6 players, since Lindsey had a basketball tournament, every girl played every minute of every game.  After a great start with a win over our friends on Riptide Adidas, we lost a little focus and lost the second game.  However, we again split games with our second opponent.  That was just the beginning, as the team got stronger and stronger with each game.  We finished the bracket 4-2, tied with Riptide, but since we split games with them, and they beat us by more points than we beat them, they took first in our pool by only 4 points.  In the first round of bracket, the girls stepped up and beat Sugar Land Select, and advanced to the second round of bracket.  By then, we had run out of steam, but still played a pretty good game agains the Tigerland team.  Finishing 5th is not too bad for a team that hadn't even had a full practice together!  Just think what we could do if we actually had time to practice!

WSC Classic #1 Summary
Once again the Aces played with only 6 players, this time with Lindsey, missing Megan.  The Aces played well thoughout pool play, and won all 8 games.  The Aggieland Juniors played us two very good games.  After taking 1st in our pool, we just didn't have it together for the first bracket game.  We finished tied for 5th out of 20 teams.  Danny did a great job on his first time to up ref!  Sugar Land Select, whom we eliminated in the last tournament, went on to win undefeated.  We'll get 'em next time, ladies!

Spike Sport Classic #7 Summary
The Texas Aces 15s did a great job in this tournament.  We were placed in the Club division based on Regional rankings.  We haven't played enough tournaments to be ranked in the Open division, even though we have placed higher than several of those teams in previous tournaments.  We were where we needed to be, though, since we haven't even had a chance to practice since the last tournament!  By choice, once again we played with only 6 players, so that each player gets maximum playing time.  Amber from the Aces 14s filled in for us, and she got to hit and play back row instead of being the only setter!

The Aces won all but one of their pool games, as they dropped their first short game to BC United.  The BC United team deserves credit for playing tough!  We thank their parents for their support throughout the remainder of the tournament.  The Aces won a couple of close games against Baja, and then turned it on in the short game to win by 10 points.  After one win against Spike Sport, we knew we had won our pool, but kept playing tough, even though the fatigue was starting to show.  But we hung in there and won all three.  Winning first in our pool earned us a bye in the first round of bracket play.  The girls took care of business in the next round, and advanced to the championship against Baja.  By then, you could defniitely tell that we played all day with only 6!  We just ran out of gas in the championship game, and let Baja take it..  We had already proven that we could beat them.  Besides, we liked the runner-up mini volleyballs.  They match our team colors!
