The Texas Aces Gold attended the fall Rising Star Showcase for the first time. The tournament was orginally scheduled for the end of October, but was postponed due to Hurricane Wilma. The weather was exceptionally cold for Florida on the first two days of the tournament, but the competition was great. The Aces got off to a good start on Friday, winning their practice game and first pool game without making an error or allowing a run to score. However, on Saturday, the defense had an uncharacteristic number of errors in the first two games. After that, the team played back to their potential, and didn't allow another run to score the rest of the weekend. The Aces played against several of the top teams at the tournament, and had lots of college coaches watching.
