Legacy scored in the 2nd after a walk was followed by a couple of hits, but the Aces tied it up in the bottom of the inning with a

WEDNESDAY

Game 1: Texas Aces Gold 4 - CA Jets Gold 3.
The Jets led off with a single, but didn't score in the 1st.  After the Jets hit three back to back singles in the 2nd, a force at home got the 1st out.  A fly ball to center held the runners, but the throw in to the plate was missed and the Jets scored one run.  Jenna walked in the 3rd, and scored on a two-out double by Lindsey.  Preston walked, and Rhiannon was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Holly dropped in a single to score Lindsey, and give the Aces the lead.  In the top of the 5th, an Aces error followed by a two-run home run put the Aces behind by one.  Kesha was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the inning, and Lindsey walked.  The runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt, and Rhiannon drove home both runners with a single to win the game.  Rhiannon allowed 5 hits and struck out 4.  The Aces had 3 hits.

Game 2: Texas Aces Gold 4 - CA American Athletics 2. Kesha led off with a triple but was left stranded.  Holly led off with a double in the 2nd and scored on a double by Jamie.  Kesha singled in the 3rd, and scored on a home run by Rhiannon.  The Athletics scored two in the bottom of the 3rd on 3 hits.  Kesha singled in the 5th and scored on a double by Preston.  Beth pitched an awesome game, allowing only 3 hits, all in the 3rd, while striking out 4.  The only other baserunner for the Athletics came on a walk in the 2nd.  The team played great defense: noteable were Katie behind the plate catching four foul pop-ups, and Kesha making three great catches in left field, including a diving catch on a line drive.

THURSDAY

Game 3: Texas Aces Gold 7 - AR Delta Dynamite Gold 0.
The Aces scored in the 2nd after Jamie singled with one out, and the shortstop made an error on a fielder's choice that allowed Jamie to go to 3rd. Megan singled to score Jamie, and Lindsey singled to score Miller.  The Dynamite threatened in the 3rd with a leadoff double, but Beth coaxed a ground out, and struck out the next batter, and got another ground out to leave the runner stranded.  In the 4th, the Dynamite threatened again with a leadoff single, but Beth struck out the #3 batter and got to ground outs to end the threat.  Jenna got a rally going in the bottom of the 4th with a leadoff single.  Megan and Kelsea followed with bunt singles to load the bases.  Lindsey singled to right to drive in two runs, and Rhiannon singled up the middle to score two more.  Miller singled to right to score another.  Ten Aces batters came to the plate that inning.  The Dynamite went down in order in the bottom of the inning, with Beth striking out the final two batters.  Beth pitched the complete game shut-out, with 6K while allowing only 2 hits.  Lindsey went 3-3 in the game with 3 RBI, and Megan went 2-2 with one RBI.

Game 4: Texas Aces Gold 6 - CAN BC Victoria Devils 1. The Aces scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning as Kesha led off with a hit and Megan was hit by a pitch.  Kesha was forced out at 3rd, but Rhiannon singled to left to score two runs.  Kelsea ran for Rhi and stole 3rd and scored on a wild pitch.  The Devils scored a run in the bottom of the 2nd with back-to-back singles.  Jenna singled in the 3rd, and Kelsea came in to run and advanced on a wild pitch.  Miller singled and Kelsea moved to 3rd.  Miller drew the Devils into a run down when advancing to 2nd, and Kelsea scored, with Miller reaching 2nd safely.  Megan and Preston walked in the 4th, and scored on consecutive singles by Holly and Kelsea.  The Devils had two hits in the bottom of the 4th, but Rhiannon struck out two to end the threat.  Kesha tripled in the 5th and Megan singled, but both were left stranded.  The Devils went down in order in the bottom of the inning.  The defense was flawless: noteable was Holly at 2nd with
3 put-outs and 2 assists, Jamie at 3rd with a put-out and an assist, and Megan in left field with two put-outs.

FRIDAY

Game 1: Texas Aces Gold 3 - CA Firecrackers (Dan) 2
.  Rhiannon pitched for the Aces and allowed 2 earned runs on three hits while striking out 10.  The Aces had base runners in scoring position in the first 4 innings, but couldn't score.  In the top of the 5th, the Firecrackers scored on a two run home run.  The Aces tied it up in the bottom of the inning after Lindsey singled and Preston reached on an error.  Rhiannon flied out to left, and the left fielder tried double off Preston at first but overthrew, and both runners scored.  In the bottom of the 7th, Preston walked, Rhiannon singled, and Holly hit into a fielder's choice.  On two outs, Jenna was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Jamie hit into a fielder's choice, but the Firecrackers failed to get Holly at 3rd as Megan scored the winning run.  Lindsey & Rhiannon each had two hits; Jenna, Miller, & Kesha singled; and Kalyn had a double.

Game 2: Texas Aces Gold 5 - TX Hitaway Gold 6.  Beth started for the Aces.  Hit Away scored in the top of the 3rd on two hits and an error in the outfield.  The Aces loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning on singles by Kesha and Kalyn and a walk to Rhiannon.  Holly then cleared the bases with a triple to put the Aces up 3-1.  Megan beat out an infield single in the 4th and scored on a double by Lindsey, for a 4-1 lead.  Rhiannon pitched the 4th & 5th innings, and Beth came back in after one out in the 6th. In the top of the 7th, Beth allowed a single, and the next runner reached on a error at short.  After one out, another single loaded the bases.  Rhiannon came in to relieve, but a single allowed one run, then an error plated two more to tie the game. A double scored two to put Hitaway ahead.  Lindsey and Preston drew back to back walks in the bottom of the 7th, and Rhiannon doubled to score one run, but on a shallow pop-up to left, Preston was gunned down at the plate to end the game.

Game 3: Texas Aces Gold 2 - CA Capitol City Comets 1.  After having the afternoon off, the Aces played late on Friday facing elimination.  Rhiannon pitched, allowing 5 hits with 6 K's.  The Aces scored in the 1st inning on back-to-back doubles by Preston and Rhiannon.  The Aces scored again in the 3rd after Miller reached on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Rhiannon.  The Comets scored in the 4th on a two-out single followed by a triple, but Rhiannon struck out the last batter to keep the lead.  The Comets had lone base runners in the 5th & 6th, but the Aces held them for the win.

SATURDAY

Game 4: Texas Aces Gold 7 - CA Corona Xpress 0.  Beth pitched a complete game shut out as the Aces run-ruled the Xpress in 5 innings.  Beth allowed only two hits while striking out 3.  Beth worked her way out of a jam in the 1st after a walk, a single, and a hit batter loaded the bases with no outs.  On a line drive to Holly at 2nd, Holly doubled off the lead runner at 3rd, and a fly out ended the threat.  The Aces got their first base runner in the 3rd on a single by Jenna.  Katie followed with a walk, and Miller reached on an error.  Kesha drove in the first run with a single.  After two fly outs, Rhiannon doubled to send home two more, and Kalyn singled to drive in another, putting the Aces up 4-0.  Preston and Kalyn singled in the 5th, and Holly drove in one with a double.  Jenna doubled to score two more to put the Aces up 7-0.  The Xpress loaded the bases again in the 5th, but Beth struck out the final batter to preserve the shut out.

Game 5: Texas Aces Gold 4 - CA San Diego Breakers Gold 2.  Kesha led off with a single in the first and scored on a single by Rhiannon.  The Aces left runners stranded in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  The Breakers tied the score in the bottom of the 4th after a batter reached on an error and scored on a single.  The Breakers went ahead in the 5th after Rhiannon hit a batter that later scored on an error.  Kalyn led off with a double in the 6th, and advanced on a single by Holly.  Kelsea drove in one with another single, and another scored on an error in right. putting the Aces up 3-2.  Preston doubled to lead off the 7th, and scored on a single by Jenna.  Rhiannon allowed 3 hits while striking out 4, and the Aces combined for 13 hits:  Holly & Jenna were both 3-4, Kesha was 2-3, Preston & Kalyn had doubles, and three others had singles.

Game 6: Texas Aces Gold 1 - OR Northwest Bullets 0.  Beth and Rhiannon split the 3rd game on Saturday.  The Bullets had lone runners in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th, and two runners in the 3rd, but were held scoreless by Beth.  The Aces also had lone base runners from a walk in the 2nd and singles in the 3rd, 4th & 6th, and a hit by pitch in the 5th.  Finally in the 7th, Holly led off with a double, and moved to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt by Jenna.  Katie executed a perfect suicide squeeze, and Holly scored.  Rhiannon allowed one hit with two outs in the bottom of the inning, but the runner was left stranded.

Game 7: Texas Aces Gold 5 - GA Xtreme 4.  The Xtreme threatened in the 1st with a single and a walk, but the Aces turned a double play on a grounder back to Rhiannon that got the runner going to 3rd and the batter.  Kesha led off with a triple, and Kelsea singled.  Kelsea drew the throw to 2nd, and Kesha stole home.  Preston singled to score Kelsea.  After two outs, Holly singled to drive in Preston, and put the Aces up 3-0.  Preston led off with a double in the 3rd, and advanced and scored on wild pitches.  In the top of the 5th, with fatigue showing, Rhiannon allowed a single, followed by a home run.  In the top of the 7th, the Xtreme tied the score with a double and another two-run home run.  In the bottom of the 7th, Preston doubled on one out, and advanced to 3rd on a ground out.  Preston then scored on a wild pitch to win the game!  Rhiannon allowed 9 hits with 5K.  The Aces also had 9 hits: Preston went 3-4 with two doubles, Holly was 2-3, Miller was 2-2 with a walk, plus the triple by Kesha, and a single by Kelsea.

Game 8: Texas Aces Gold 5 - OR Panthers Gold 1.  In the 5th back-to-back game of the day, the sun at least had gone down and it cooled off.  However, the wind was blowing about 15-20 mph for most of the game.  Both teams had several base runners in the first 3 innings, but none scored.  Preston led off with a single in the 4th, but was forced out at 2nd.  Kalyn then hit a two-run home run into the wind, that would probably have cleared the hill behind the field without the wind.  The Aces scored two more in the 5th, after a single by Kesha followed by a sac bunt with an error that allowed Kesha to score, and a single by Holly drove in another.  The Panthers scored one in the 6th with a single followed by a double, but Beth got two ground outs and fly out to leave one stranded.  The Aces got the run back in the 7th after Preston singled and scored on a double by Rhiannon.  Beth pitched the complete game, allowing 5 hits with 6 K's.    The Aces had 8 hits off Oregon State bound Karmen Holladay:  Rhiannon 2-3 (2B), Preston 2-4, Kalyn (HR), and Holly, Miller, & Kesha singles.

SUNDAY

After arriving back at the hotel past 10:30 on Saturday night after playing all day, the Aces had to leave for the ballpark at 5:45 am on Sunday, one of only 12 teams still playing.

Game 9: Texas Aces Gold 1 - MO Firestix 2.  Rhiannon singled to lead off the 2nd, and Kelsea singled in the 3rd.  In the first 3 innings, Rhiannon struck out 6 and allowed only one base runner on a walk.  However, in the 4th,  the Firestix hit back to back doubles to put runners on 2nd & 3rd, then followed with another double to score 2 runs.  The Aces answered back in the top of the 6th as Kelsea led off with a single.  With runners on the corners and two outs, Rhiannon hit a double to the right field fence that should have scored two and tied the game, but the ball bounced over for a ground rule double, and the runner from first had to return to 3rd.  The Aces were unable to score the final run.  Holly led off the top of the 7th with a single, but was left stranded, sending the Aces home tied for 9th.  Rhiannon allowed 5 hits with 7 K, while the Aces had 6 hits: Rhiannon was 2-3 with a double and an RBI, Kelsea was 2-3, and Kalyn & Holly each had singles.
