The Aces got in a few more practice games, with almost the whole team in attendance. Holly led the team batting for the weekend at 0.667. In the first game, the Aces scored 8 runs in the top of the first inning. Jamie went 2-3 with a single and a double and scored twice with one RBI. Kalyn hit a two-run home run. Holly singled and drove in two runs, and Megan had an RBI. Rhiannon pitched 4 innings and the defense allowed no base runners. The next game ended 1-1 tie with an unearned run as Holly pitched 5 innings and allowed only 3 hits to the Avengers. After hitting a two-out double, Holly scored as Jenna reached on an error for the Aces run. Miller, Megan, Kalyn, Kesha, and Rhiannon also had hits. Beth pitched 4.0 innings and allowed only two hits in a win over Impact Gold, with one unearned run scoring that reached on an error. The Aces scored two in the first inning after a walk and a hit batter put two on and Kalyn drove both in with a single. Holly also singled in the inning. On Sunday, Beth pitched 3 innings against the Eclipse Gold, allowing 4 hits and one earned run, and left with the game tied 1-1. Holly struggled a little in her first inning on the mound, and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, but didn’t allow another base runner in the following two innings. The Aces scored in the 2nd after Holly singled and came home on a double by Jenna. The Aces scored again in the 4th after Kalyn walked and Holly drove her in with a double. In the final game, the Aces managed 13 hits: Beth hit a double with 2 RBI, Holly was 3-3 with a double, Kalyn was 1-3 with an RBI, and Jamie had an RBI. Lindsey was 2-3 with an RBI, Rhi was 2-3 with 3 RBI, Jenna, Kesha, and Miller singled, and Miller had an RBI. Kelsea hit a triple. Rhiannon allowed 4 hits and walked 3 while striking out 4. The defense played almost flawlessly to preserve the shut out, with highlights of Lindsey throwing out a runner at the plate in the first inning, and Beth holding a runner at 2nd after a great catch in right field in the 6th.
